The list notebook: Where I write my grocery lists, project supply lists, driving directions, and sewing pattern lists (I keep this in my purse with a pen all the time)
The journal notebook: Where I write personal thoughts, notes, and reflections
And finally, the budget notebook: Where I allocate and track the money we spend (is it archaic that I shy away from computer budgeting software?)
If I had been lucky enough to be taken up in the Rapture and no one would ever hear from me again, anything anyone would want to know about the day-to-day life of this girl could likely be found in one of these notebooks. While my hand-written systems may seem outdated, it works. And I like it.

Do you carry all of them with you? I tend to be flustered when I have different notebooks for everything, but then again I don't want them all together either.
I have almost completely lost touch with writing by hand (except for personal notes that I send via the post). However, I still keep one notebook in my scriptures and one in my diaper bag, but they are sorely underutilized.
I need to allocate different things to different notebooks. Right now I just have a couple that get filled up with all kinds of miscellany and crap.
I like this. At FHE last night we talked about scripture journaling and I've been trying to figure out how I want to do it. I write stuff down all the time, it's just scattered everywhere.
I like doing it old-style, too! I have a scripture notebook, a diet notebook, a General Conference notebook, a Women's Conference notebook, a Sunday notes notebook, one for keeping track of my working hours, and several that I use just for jotting down ideas or books that I want to read.
We have Quicken, but Dan still uses his checkbook, too. It's always good to have a low-tech backup.
